How do I get started with Gentility?+

It's simple. Tell us what you need through a quick online enquiry or a friendly phone call, and we'll listen carefully. We then match you with vetted, suitable people — and for many jobs we'll arrange a free home visit first so we fully understand your needs. You meet and approve anyone before anything begins.

How quickly can support start?+

For many services we can arrange an introduction within a few days. Urgent respite and care cover can often be arranged sooner — call us and we'll do our best to help quickly.

Which areas do you cover?+

We cover London and Bedfordshire — from Lambeth, Croydon and Bromley to Kingston, Sutton, Redbridge and Luton, and many more. Tell us your postcode and we'll confirm availability, or see our Areas page for the boroughs and neighbourhoods we serve.

Can I change or cancel my support?+

Of course. Life changes, and your support should flex with it. Just talk to us — we'll adjust the schedule, arrange a replacement, or pause things whenever you need.

Pricing

How much does it cost?+

Every situation is different, so rather than list fixed prices we give you a clear, tailored quote once we understand exactly what you need — sometimes after a quick home visit. That way there are no surprises, and you only pay for what genuinely helps.

Why don't you show prices on the website?+

Because honest pricing depends on your specific needs — the type of support, how often, where you are and sometimes an on-site assessment. A one-size-fits-all price would either over- or under-charge you. We'd rather understand your situation first and give you an accurate, fair quote.

Is a quote really free?+

Yes — completely free and with no obligation. Request a quote online or call us, and we'll follow up with a tailored, transparent breakdown. Where a home visit helps us quote accurately, that's free too.

Trust & safety

Are your carers and staff DBS checked?+

Yes. Every care-facing person we introduce holds an Enhanced DBS check, and all staff are reference-verified and identity-checked, with their right to work in the UK confirmed, before we ever introduce them to you.

Are you insured?+

Yes. We carry comprehensive public liability insurance, and our managed cleaning services are fully insured for complete peace of mind.

Do you provide regulated personal care, or are you CQC registered?+

For care and domestic support, Gentility works as an introductory and support service: we carefully vet and introduce the right person to you, with no ongoing role in the personal care they deliver — which is why these services don't require CQC registration. It's a well-established, lawful model. Our commercial cleaning is delivered as a fully managed service.

How do you protect my personal information?+

We handle your data — including sensitive care information — carefully and lawfully under UK GDPR. We collect only what we need, keep it secure, never sell it, and you can access or erase your data any time. See our Privacy policy for details.

What services do you offer?+

Care and support (elderly care, live-in and hourly caregivers, companionship and respite), community and wellbeing support (community escort, social support, dementia-friendly and learning-disability support), home help (domestic support, deep cleaning, meal preparation, garden clearing), and office & commercial cleaning — all across London and Bedfordshire.

Do you support people with dementia or learning disabilities?+

Yes. We provide compassionate, person-centred dementia-friendly support and befriending, and empowering support for people with learning disabilities — at home and out in the community. Every carer is matched thoughtfully and supports each person with patience and respect.

Do you do cleaning as well as care?+

We do. Alongside care and support, we offer home help and domestic support, sensitive deep and blitz cleaning, and fully managed office and commercial cleaning — so you can arrange care and cleaning with one trusted team.

Can I get the same carer each time?+

Wherever possible, yes — continuity matters enormously. We aim to send the same trusted person so your loved one sees a familiar, friendly face, and we always introduce a carefully matched replacement if your regular carer is unavailable.
